Occupational Lung Disease
Comprehensive Lung Screening and Registry Services for Coal, Mineral Mine, and Quarry Workers
Exposure to mine and quarry dust can lead to serious, often silent, lung diseases.
These diseases often progress without symptoms until it’s too late.
Respirable dust — from coal, silica, and other particles — can embed deep in the lungs, slowly causing inflammation and permanent damage over time.
Without routine screening, these conditions often go unnoticed until symptoms become severe or irreversible.
Lungscreen offers a purpose built lung screening program for workers exposed to mine and quarry dust.
Dual-Read ILO-Standard Reporting
Every chest X-ray undergoes rigorous dual reading by NIOSH-certified B-Readers, adhering strictly to international ILO guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Centralised Archiving and Longitudinal Tracking
All clinical data and imaging are securely archived in our central registry, enabling seamless historical comparisons and robust longitudinal analysis.
Digital Portal with Secure Access
Workers, referrers, and employers gain quick, secure online access to images, health records, and clinical reports, simplifying administrative workflows and improving clinical care.
Dedicated Clinical Support
Our specialist occupational health clinicians provide personalised guidance, helping interpret screening results, coordinate follow-up care, and support worker health decisions.
This level of integration supports faster turnaround times, higher diagnostic accuracy, and a more complete picture of each worker’s respiratory health.
Registration
The worker is registered with Lungscreen and issued a unique Lungscreen ID.
X-ray Appointment
A chest X-ray is taken at a participating radiology clinic. The Lungscreen ID must be included in the image data.
Image Upload
Referring doctors or imaging providers upload the image via Lungscreen Portal.
ILO B-Read & Dual Reading
All X-rays are read by accredited B-Readers using the ILO classification system. Each image is reported by at least two independent Radiologists.
Report Delivery
Referring doctors receive the final ILO report. Workers can log in to view their results securely through the Lungscreen portal.
